Pipe smoke....

In this current climate of zero tolerance to smoking indoors I found myself recently in a bit of a quandary. I had a fantastic portrait of Pip Atkins that I had retouched and converted to Monochrome. In the image Pip has a lovely old pipe that he is posed with in his mouth but because of the currently zero smoking laws I couldn't light the pipe in the studio. So how to fix this and give the portrait that final flourish I was looking for? This is where Photoshop really comes into its own, simply add a layer and pick a smoke brush from the many brush catalogue websites and boom! smoking pipe!! Got to love Photoshop.

Its all about the eyes....

First image retouched from todays session with the lovely Shannon Courteney Dykes and experimenting with a different skin smoothing technique in Photoshop.

Phottix Indra360ttl used subject left with a 110cm Octabox set up as a cross light and one Nikon SB700 controlled by the Odin2 receiver set at minimum power and heavily diffused to just add a splash of light to the grey backdrop.

Corporate meets family....

Great shoot today with Luke Ash and his adorable daughter Madison, the first half of the session was dedicated to getting Headshots for Luke's business requirements. The second half was family fun with Luke and his adorable daughter Madison. Lots of smiles all round :)))

Flamenco dancer....

Awesome shoot today for my Portfolio with the lovely Laura Jade Sykes. We did various themes but the stand out shot of the day for me was this Flamenco inspired image.

Amber....

Fantastic shoot yesterday with the lovely Amber Sky Webster. Amber wanted a Vintage 1940's feel to the shoot so we did Hair and Makeup of that era and I shot her using my usual one light setup with a 110cm octabox.

It was a brilliant day and a massive thank you to both Amber and the awesomely talented Esther Burton for a awesome job of MUA/ Hair.

Book club...

Fantastic shoot this morning with Wakefield based author Mark James Barrett for his website and new book 'The dreams of the black butterfly'.

Sword play...

Fantastic shoot this week with the very talented Phil Webster, tattoo artist and co owner of Integrity Tattoo Lounge based in Ossett.

Always good to catch up and have some banter, Phil just screams personality in front of the lens. Plus bonus we got to play with swords!
