In this current climate of zero tolerance to smoking indoors I found myself recently in a bit of a quandary. I had a fantastic portrait of Pip Atkins that I had retouched and converted to Monochrome. In the image Pip has a lovely old pipe that he is posed with in his mouth but because of the currently zero smoking laws I couldn't light the pipe in the studio. So how to fix this and give the portrait that final flourish I was looking for? This is where Photoshop really comes into its own, simply add a layer and pick a smoke brush from the many brush catalogue websites and boom! smoking pipe!! Got to love Photoshop.
